Proto Summer Camp!

10 Dates Through Aug 11, 2015

ABOUT ABOUT

Our Proto Summer Camp combines two of our Summer Learning Series classes into a two-day, 4 hour maker experience.  A monday ticket covers monday/wednesday of that week, while a tuesday ticket covers tuesday/thursday of that week.

Day One features our Math and Minecraft class, where your child will learn basic concepts in 3d modeling:  scaling and sizing a 3d object, manipulating that object in three dimensions, and the process of 3d printing that object.  Using simple fractions, your child will learn how to take small and large objects from the Minecraft universe and scale them to a size more managable for printing on a MakerBot 3d printer.  Afterwards, they will get to print their favorite object to take home as a souvenir!

Day Two features our Beginner Soldering class, where your child will learn basic concepts in electronic circuits:  how electricity travels through a circuit board, basic electronics components (resistors, capacitors, and LEDs), and using a soldering iron.  Our beginners soldering course is a great way to give your child a basic understanding of how circuit boards work, what the various components do, and how they are soldered onto a circuit board.  Your child will get to solder our Weevil Eye kit to take home as a souvenir!

One ticket will cover both morning sessions.  Sessions run from 9am to 11am on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, depending on the week chosen.

Restrictions

*The Beginners Soldering course requires the use of a 752 degree soldering iron.  Thus it's the parents duty to determine if your child demonstrates the care and maturity that's required when using a soldering iron.  A liability release form must be signed when your child attends the class.
